Another month over. It was a crazy day, which started with me tripping over Barley in the dark hallway on my way out of the house this morning, and ended with more crafting. I have the ink stained hands to prove it.

In between it was a work day filled with issues, some laughter, and getting stuff done. At least the major items on my to-do list. And I spent a couple of hours catching up with friends after work. I’m thankful for the last Monday of the month.

It was a long day. I got a lot done, but not as much as I had hoped. The woman from the store where I have a booth texted me that next weekend is a special event. She suggested I restock beforehand, so I took a break and pulled some stuff together. I figured it would be easier to do it today than later this week. Then I realized the store closed early today, so I wasn’t able to go anyway. Grrr. Guess I’ll figure out how to get later in the week afterall.

I am thankful the weather got cool enough that I could sit in the hot tub for a little bit. Working in the garage on the concrete made me ache all over. It’s almost like I’m getting old…

Patrick spent most of his day picking up stuff for his greenhouse project, which left me alone to craft. I got a lot done, but only half of the spirit dolls done. I forgot how long it sometimes takes for clay to dry. I’m thankful that the sun was out, which helped dry things. It was also windy, which also helped. I’m grateful I got several things done since I’m running out of time.

I was trying to get out of work early today, but of course I got about 6 problems dumped on me that needed addressing before the end of this week. I ended up as one of the last folks in the building, but at least I got things mostly figured out before I left. I’m thankful for that. And thankful for the weekend.

I feel like I slept hard last night; I even remember dreaming which I haven’t done in a while. And it was weird dreams, too. I did get up once (along with the pups) but I didn’t toss and turn like I normally do afterwards. Yet when my alarm rang at 5:45, I could have hit snooze several times. I felt tired all day. My uneasy sleep lately must be catching up with me because I also felt rather slap-happy. Someone even told me I didn’t seem like a manager today, which probably wasn’t the best observation. Oh well.

I’m thankful it’s the end of the week, and I’m hoping I can sleep well tonight. Maybe without the weird dreams.

Last night we had issues with the pups. They found a possum and tried to bring it in the house. Barley dropped it outside the door, and Patrick locked the pups inside. They continued being worked up, so we had to keep the doggie door shut all night. And even though we got up a couple of times to let them out, someone still peed on the basement rug at some point. Today Barley got into his throwing up mode, which happens sometimes. He ended up being somewhat back to normal this evening, so I’m thankful for that. I’m hoping tonight is a more peaceful evening.

I’m thankful for the rain we have had because we really needed it. However, I’m also grateful it will be done after today. The rain always gives me an annoying headache. Plus the days will be cooler, so we can finally use the hot tub again. Yay!

I’m also thankful to be getting little bits of my to-do list done every day. Only eleven days to the craft show, so I’m running out of time. Tonight I worked on these. They’re not quite done but it’s a good start.

It was probably the last hot day we will have this year, so Patrick and I got out of town for a little bit. I should have crafted all day, but the garage, where I had set up my stuff, felt like an oven. Tomorrow will be much cooler.

We ended up in a small town and had lunch at a brewery by a river. Thankfully, it was shaded and there was a breeze, so we had a good time. It was worth playing hooky from crafting.
