Today I’m thankful for spontaneous get togethers with friends.

I ended my day with complaints. From faculty. From students. It’s draining. But it was sunny again and warmer than usual, so I was able to take a long walk in the neighborhood after work. I also spent some time catching up with friends today, so it all balances out. I’m thankful for that.

Often I try to get online and at least watch Sunday church service since I’m too lazy to go. But this morning we got breakfast and ran errands. I love eating breakfast out. It was sunny too, which was a welcome change. The day was slow moving for which I am grateful.

I had a day alone and got a lot done. Not enough, but a lot. I’m thankful for days alone since they are few and far between anymore.

Today I had to do a qualifications audit on the faculty in my division to make sure everyone is still qualified to teach the classes they teach. Thankfully, everyone is fine. I’m grateful I can end the week with no issues.

It was a busy day that started with covering a sick faculty member’s class at 7:30 am. I’m grateful for being busy. It makes the day go by quicker and makes me feel valued.

Tonight I met a friend for a glass of wine and a chat. Although she talked me into doing an exercise class first. I’m thankful for friends who want to help better me.

Monday. But I’m thankful for the long overdue massage I had tonight.

We went to a favorite winery to see what it looked like in the snow. We enjoyed a glass of wine and a cheese platter in the quiet barn. I’m thankful for afternoons that deviate from the norm.

Today I am thankful for softly falling snow that covers everything in a clean canvas.
