I’m glad I made it through the day.

I’m thankful today for my mom, my mother-in-law, and my local stand-in mom, Ann. I’m lucky to have them in my life. I’m also grateful for my kids and wish they lived closer. Patrick and I ended up going to brunch this morning and doing yard stuff. And I finally got some crafting done. Yay!

A busy day! We went to a farmers market this morning in Woodstock, where Groundhog Day was filmed. There are a couple of my favorite stores there, so I found a few treasures. Then we finished some planting in the yard before we left to go to an Edgar Allen Poe theater event. It was held in a church that was converted to an event center. The actors were good and the drinks were interesting. I’m thankful for a fun day.

Yay, Friday!!
I’m at the end of the timeframe that my doctor said I should wear my stomach binder. Full disclosure, I’ve not worn it every night the last week because it’s been warm and it slides up. And I’m tired of wearing it. That being said, it feels weird without it. I have some hard lumps on the sides of my waist that are still really tender and the binder helps. I remember it took a long time after my last surgery for my stomach to stop feeling super tender and sensitive. I guess it will take a while this time too. Hopefully my next surgery in 10 days doesn’t screw that up.
I am thankful I can stop wearing the binder if I want to. It takes the pressure off because it does get warm. I’m also thankful that my bloodwork today was fine. And I can sleep in tomorrow.

This silly pup. He makes me laugh. Look at those vampire teeth. I’m thankful for the fun (and sometimes frustration) he brings to our family.

I’m thankful Emma’s first day at her new job went well. I’m also thankful Patrick got the deck furniture put back today; everything looks nice after the deck sealer dried. Bring on the warm days!

I’m grateful for silliness with friends and family, puppy kisses, walks in the sunshine, and healing scars.

Monday again. I’m not even talking about work because it’s the same old news. Instead, I’m grateful that Emma made it home safely last night from visiting Brianna, that Patrick got our deck sealed, and I got the plants in the ground.

After we all went out for a yummy breakfast, mom and Jenny left. And then Patrick and I went plant shopping. I got flowers. Lots of flowers. Then I did some weeding and got sore, so the flowers that need to be planted will have to wait a bit. I’m so thankful for a warm day in the garden.

Mom and Jenny went to a bridal shower today, so Patrick and I ran our respective errands. Patrick planted stuff in his garden before the rain, and I returned something to the store. Then we got pizza and hung out with Mom and Jenny in the evening. I’m thankful for being able to spend time together this weekend.
