We went to a flea market for a couple of hours this morning and I found a few treasures like an old velvet coat and a box of wooden trim bits that spark my imagination. We ran into a friend who was also there. It was fun!

This afternoon I started decorating our mantle for Halloween. I have more to do, but it’s looking pretty good so far. I’m thankful for a good day.

I’m thankful today for another gorgeous day, for sleeping in, finishing a book, catching up with a friend, catching up with Emma, and for dinner out with Patrick.

Patrick got his pizza oven put together and made pizza for dinner. It was good! He’s planning to practice in order to perfect it, which means we’ll be eating pizza for a while. So much for the weight I’ve lost. But I’m thankful he got it going since he’s waited a long time for a pizza oven.

There is so much devastation in the world again that it’s hard to be anything but grateful if your own small spot is upright and functioning. I’m thankful today for the many blessings I have. Sunshine in cool weather. Silly pups. Good food. Loving family and friends…

I’m thankful for extra rain, a roof for the shed, a new ceiling fan, and Cooper snuggles.

It was a drizzly, fall-ish day, today, and since Patrick had to work late, I decided I would cook dinner. Because Patrick enjoys cooking, I haven’t made dinner in a long time. I wanted to find something that resembled comfort food but also something new for me. I ended up choosing a chicken dish that used blue cheese, apples and prosciutto in a wine sauce with a side of mashed sweet potatoes. It required getting some ingredients, so since I had to do a grocery run, I added brownies to the menu. Only I forgot to grab a box mix. Luckily, we had enough baking cocoa to make them from scratch. And thankfully, everything turned out well. Even Patrick liked it.

I’m thankful today for this lovely sunrise.

And for brunch with a friend and for getting some things done at home. Patrick started putting together a storage shed in the backyard. It’s just big enough to house our furniture cushions and maybe a few other things. It was pretty inexpensive, so we’re hoping it lasts. We are supposed to have rain coming tomorrow, so fingers crossed it’s still standing by the end of the day.

I went to a Fall craft/antique market with a friend today and found a couple treasures. Yay, Fall! I’m thankful for the fun and the mostly cooperative weather. It was cool when we got there, but the sun was out and it warmed up quickly. My flannel shirt was too much with my layers of compression garments. Gah. I can’t wait to ditch them, even though it does feel kinda supportive with them on. At any rate, it was a good morning and a relaxing rest of the day. I’m grateful.

We got patio furniture today for our new backyard. I think it looks good, and I’m grateful for the cooler weather since it will make it easier to enjoy.

I drove myself to my physical therapy appointment today! And then I drove to a couple of stores. Yay! I still need to use a small pillow under the seatbelt, but otherwise, it was all good. It feels good to have a little freedom again, and I’m thankful for that.
