I’ve heard from a few people who listened to the podcast this week that they appreciated it. Yay! My friend who co-hosted it shared some comments she got as well, which made me realize how much meaningful conversations can impact people. I’m grateful for that since I wanted to be truthful about my journey, and I hope maybe it helps others to be willing to share their own difficult experiences. Burdens are so much lighter if we aren’t carrying them alone.

I’m also thankful today for a bit of time outside, dinner with Patrick at a place we haven’t been in a while, and for fun junking plans tomorrow.

I’ve been prepping to do some gardening this weekend and discovered this leg from some poor robot. I guess he’ll remain part of garden since I couldn’t free him. I’m thankful for how bright and colorful everything is right now.

Today we got a new air conditioner put in at our house. It went well and seems to work well. Our old one was 34 years old, so I’m assuming this is one will work more efficiently. It’s already quieter. I’m thankful for that.

I’m also thankful for spontaneous dinner out with a friend. We took some photos ahead of time, so she could have new head shots for her busy consulting work. Then we celebrated that our podcast that came out today and ran into my plastic surgeon, who chatted with us a bit. I was able to tell him how much his positive attitude meant to me during my visits with him. It was good conversation and needed connections midweek.

Monday done. It was a busy day but I’m thankful for that. It makes the work time go a little quicker. It was a nice day otherwise; the rain gone and sunshine in its place. And even though we found out we need a new air conditioner today, I’m grateful the contractor can replace it this week.

I’m thankful today for the moms I’m blessed to have in my life, and I’m grateful I was able to spend Mother’s Day with Emma. It’s been a while since either of my kids were around on this day. We weren’t able to get a reservation anywhere for brunch, so Patrick made it for us. And it was yummy.

We spent the rest of the day checking out a couple antique shops and then watching a movie before Emma left to spend time with her dad. It was a good day.

I’m thankful today that Emma made it safely here and we got to spend the day hanging out. Her flight got in early so we went to @littlegoatdiner for breakfast before visiting the museum. The food was delicious, of course. I had the Fat Elvis pancakes which included bacon bits in the warm syrup. I’m kind of glad the diner isn’t close to home because I’d look like fat Elvis if it did.

Sadly, it rained most of the day so we didn’t get much chance to wander around Chicago, but we did wander through the Van Gogh exhibit at the museum. We both love the impressionists, and Van Gogh is a favorite. I’d hang these up at home…

I’m grateful today that it’s the end of my busy work week. Emma is coming to visit this weekend and I’m picking her up early from the airport tomorrow morning. We are going to have breakfast and go to the art museum.

Patrick is spending most of the weekend helping his mother clean and pack up his grandmother’s room at the nursing home. Although there will be a service for her later this month, they are going to lay her to rest tomorrow afternoon. I’m thankful he made it there safely today and that he will be there tomorrow.
