Tomorrow is Halloween! I’m only half ready. We got more candy this weekend, and we have our costumes. Patrick decided he’d dress up this year. My costume requires a different hair color, so I got a wig but it looks awful. I tried cutting it and made it worse. I guess I’ll just see what I can do in the morning. I’m going to have to get up early since I plan to wear my costume to work. Fingers crossed.

I’m thankful today for brunch at a new place, For a silly Christmas t-shirt. For good-smelling cleaning supplies.

We went to a haunted house tonight. I’m thankful for some Halloween fun after a day of errands.

Friday! I’m thankful today for brief conversations with my daughter and mother-in-law, for sunshine this afternoon, for pizza and beer, Halloween text messages, and sofa snuggles.

The day started off rough. Our company president held a meeting where he announced impending layoffs—never good news. We are a global company, so it’s possible that our location will be spared, but it’s still a sad place to be. It was a tough day.

But I’m very grateful that a friend’s surgery went well today. And Patrick and I met a friend for dinner. And tomorrow is Friday.

Massage. Mmmm. I had another appointment this evening. I’m so thankful that I’m able to go regularly because it really does feel like it’s helping break up the scar tissue. Afterwards, I hurt, and I’m sometimes bruised, but I feel like my left breast is more relaxed, at least for a while. I’m holding out hope that the effects will eventually last because my funds won’t. Haha.

Tomorrow is hump day. Woot! Once again, I’m counting down the work days. Why are some weeks like that? I’m hoping the rest of the week will be a little easier. We are counting down to Halloween, so there’s that. I’m wearing all my Halloween gear, and I have a lot, including some jewelry I forgot about. I may need to pile on everything on Friday. It’s been raining all day and it’s gotten colder, so I’m grateful for a relaxing evening. This time with a glass of wine.

Ugh. Monday. My crabbiness from Friday carried over. I guess I have some work frustrations I need to get through. Unlike the new engineer who, after only 2 weeks on the job, quit today. No notice. He’s just not coming back tomorrow. Thankfully, my new hire is doing well. He will be back.

Tonight, instead of winding down with wine, I made myself a cup of this. Mmmm

I’m thankful today for getting stuff done. Laundry mostly. But I also dug up the hostas and Russian sage that was too overgrown in the garden, cut back the peonies, and cleaned up the lilies. I now hurt.

We also started a Halloween beer mini tour at our favorite restaurant, so we did a little day drinking. Good thing the weather was so nice, sunny and breezy; it was great to relax in the sun a bit this afternoon. I should have taken a nap.

Totally forgot to hit post on this last night because I was out later than normal. Oops.

Patrick and I did a bit of driving today and the cold snap we had last week made the fall colors spectacular. I’m so thankful for the beauty that comes with fall.

That was me today. It’s been a long week, and work was really frustrating. Plus I’m still tired.

On the upside, I got 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. And today we got crazy warm weather which felt amazing. I’m thankful for being able to sit outside and decompress for a little bit. And I’m looking forward to the weekend.
