It’s Wednesday. I’m thankful to be halfway through this week because I’m so tired already. Just like these guys.

I’m grateful that the two new hires in my department came back for a second day. Fingers crossed they’re back again tomorrow after today’s hectic day. One of them made the comment that if we noticed confetti in the air, it was really just her head exploding. Yikes! I guess the first few days at a new job is always a bit overwhelming.
I’m also thankful for mint tea. That is all.
I was NOT happy about this today, but I’m thankful for the lovely drive into work, knowing the snow wouldn’t last long. And it was gone by this afternoon.

Since we didn’t get together with anyone today, we went to breakfast and worked in the yard. Then I didn’t even feel bad for having pie for dinner. Here are some things I’m thankful for today.

My sister, mom, and brother-in-law planned to come over today for a pre-Easter brunch, so I invited Jim’s sisters and husbands over as well while they were in town. We did a lot of eating, drinking, and laughing, and it was a good time. I’m thankful once again to be able to spend an afternoon with family. I’m not sure the pups were as happy; they needed extra naps once everyone left.

A friend of mine lost her mom and her dad last year to cancer. Tonight she had a celebration of life for them. It was a party with karaoke and food and drinks. There were family photos and flowers and balloons. And lots of family. I’m grateful to have been invited and to see a family honor their loved ones, not with tears, but with music and rejoicing.
When I go, I want a party. Maybe a craft project. Definitely balloons and cake. And glitter. Lots of glitter.
I’m thankful it’s Friday! It’s not but I have tomorrow off work, so my weekend starts now.

I’m thankful for a strong drink this evening, for warmer weather even though it was rainy, and popcorn. Oh, and Girl Scout thin mint cookies. Dang it.
As usual, another long day at work, but I stopped and had a glass of wine with a friend afterwards. And then took a walk around the block with Patrick before collapsing on the sofa. Chance was really snuggly, too. Even though I should have been doing some errands, I’m thankful for just relaxing. I’m also thankful I got Spring decor out last week because the grouping on our coffee table adds to the calm atmosphere.

I’m especially thankful for my friend Ann, whose birthday is today.
