It’s my Friday! My mom and three of my sisters are coming for a girls’ weekend. Brenda got here this evening, and in a rare turn of events, Patrick was out this evening spending time with his friends. So Brenda and I had fun hanging out and catching up and watching whatever we wanted on tv. . I’m thankful she got here safely and am looking forward to a fun weekend.

Last month I bought some cute ceramic cauldrons to use this weekend when my mom and sisters come for a couple of days. When I went to look for them the other day, I couldn’t find them. I searched everywhere. I even looked in my storage unit yesterday thinking I may have accidentally brought them there when I brought a couple things over a couple weekends ago. But no. I kept going through rooms expecting them to magically appear. But no. It was driving me absolutely mad. Then in a desperate attempt to save my sanity, I checked the garage one more time, and found them in a box, still in the shopping bag. I must have started to bring them in the day I bought them and gotten distracted, setting them in a random box. (Insert eye roll here.)

I was so relieved to have found them though. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of the frustration. So I’m thankful for that. And I’m thankful that tonight I was able to get a few things done in preparation for my family’s visit. Hopefully tomorrow I won’t have to work late again and can finish up with time to spare.

What a long day. I was up at 4:45 so I could be at work at 6:00 am for a training and then had back to back meetings all day until 3:30. And one of those meetings was to announce yet another change of management at work. Sigh. I’m exhausted, so I’m thankful I can go to bed early.

I’m thankful for sunshine and wine on this long Monday.

It was almost a perfect fall day weather-wise. Cool but full of sunshine, and thankfully my mother-in-law didn’t have to leave until the afternoon. We were able to go to a craft fair and have brunch before Patrick took her to the airport.

It’s unfortunate we live so far away from Patrick’s family. We don’t get to see each other very often, so I’m so grateful she was able to visit. We had a lovely time.

I’m thankful for another good day. We had fun shopping a little, hanging in the hot tub, eating wood fire pizza, and watching a silly movie.

Today I took the day off work, so we could go to the apple orchard and hang out. The weather cooperated and the sun eventually came out. We ran errands, I had a good oncology appointment (I’m not pregnant), my mother-in-law and I got some vintage shopping done, and we watched a cute Halloween movie after a yummy dinner. I’m thankful for a good day.

I’m thankful that my mother-in-law made it here safely, and we had a wonderful dinner and good chat this evening.

I’m thankful for a quick workday, for only one more day of physical therapy, for a lavender-filled heating pad, peppermint tea, and a black sequined jacket.

It’s was a frustrating day at work, and half the day I thought it was Wednesday. Super disappointing that it’s not. But I’m thankful the day didn’t drag on. And I’m thankful I got some things done afterwards like finding the Halloween t-shirts I had put in a tote in the basement and semi-cleaning up my craft room. I’m also grateful that after using the hot tub for a little bit last night, I had no drainage or other issues like last time. Woohoo!
