It’s boss’s day, which I didn’t realize until I was handed a gift this morning by one of my team. I REALLY wanted to put this shirt on after I opened it, but I figure I’d better save it for outside of work. Isn’t it funny? I’m grateful for her thoughtfulness and humor. Some people are too sweet.

I’m thankful for a beautiful start to the day picking apples at a local orchard and a lovely end to the day having wood fired pizza with friends.

I’m thankful for a lazy day of wandering through antique stores. And that the rain has stopped. And for this cool Halloween candle a friend gave me.

Yay! Today I watched the original Friday the 13th movie for the first time. It was a good night for it—rainy and dreary. But it was fun to watch with a friend. I’m thankful for friends, a pre-Halloween gift exchange, the sound of rain, skulls in the fireplace, and a weekend with no plans.

It’s been cold and rainy again, so I’m thankful I was able to work at home after my physical therapy appointment over lunch. And Patrick made homemade soup. And tomorrow is Friday!

I need to write this earlier in the day because by 8:00 pm I am done thinking. Like it’s hard to focus anymore, which is crazy because it’s not really that late. But I am usually awake by 5:30, so that’s my excuse. At any rate, I realized that what I was really most thankful for yesterday is that my sister’s mammogram follow up appointment gave her a clear result. What a blessing! When I first heard that they saw something initially that required more testing, I felt like crying. Maybe it’s my PTSD from my own journey, but it’s hard to imagine another one of my sisters having to go through a cancer diagnosis. It would be madness. And today, I’m still thankful for that good news.

I’m thankful today for strength training, for making it to the end of my work day without being exhausted, for cool air and sunshine, and for puppy snuggles.

The sky this morning looked like a sheet of heavy clouds were splitting open.

And the sun coming through was gorgeous…

I’m thankful today for getting out of the house for a little bit, hanging out with Patrick, snuggling up under blankets, and watching bad movies.
