After sleeping in a little (yay!) I spent most of the day putting up Christmas decorations while Patrick worked on his greenhouse floor. We are both reminded once again how much we need to get back to working out regularly. I’m sore just from being on my feet all day. That’s uncool. At least Patrick’s sore is from spending too much time bent over while working on his floor.

I’m thankful for getting a lot done though. I still have some more cleaning up to do, but I’m happy with how things are looking so far.

I’m thankful for a fun day of Christmas shopping with Patrick. We started at the apple orchard since it’s the last weekend they’re open for the year. Then we went to one of my favorite small stores where I found a cool plaid bag and a couple gifts. Finally we went to a few more stores, had a yummy lunch, and headed home to the pups.

It was so cold today that it was nice to get home, change into sweats, and just hang out. Tomorrow I’ll work on getting Christmas stuff out.

I’m thankful for a lowish stress work day, for a birthday dinner with a friend, and for Christmas lights. And for this cool Santa I got as a gift. I had to fight Cooper off because he thought it was a toy. Guess he’s going to be looking down from a tall height this season.

My only plan for my birthday today was to put the Christmas lights up outside, the tree up inside, and to go to a craft fair. Well, and to go to dinner later with Patrick.

Patrick got the Christmas tree out of the garage attic which required moving stuff out of the way. Then, I couldn’t find some of the Christmas lights which prompted more moving stuff around in the garage. That lead to a full on garage clean up and a trip to my storage unit and Goodwill. None of that was on my agenda, but I’m glad to have it done anyway.

I did get the lights up and the tree up. And instead of going to a craft fair, I picked up mulch from Home Depot to cover the bulbs I planted, wandered around HomeGoods, and finally found the tree collar I was looking for at Michael’s. Then I met Patrick for dinner.

It wasn’t the day I planned, but it was a good day. I’m so thankful for the birthday messages and unexpected yummy gifts. I’m a lucky gal.

Seriously, we are getting down to the last week of the month. What?!

We ended up working in the backyard most of the day since soon we will be out of decent weather. I racked leaves and put away the final pillows and chairs from the deck. Then planted bulbs. Patrick cleaned up his garden and picked up mulch. We are both sore. I haven’t used my chest muscles like that since my surgeries. But it felt good to get stuff done. I’m hoping tomorrow to get the Christmas lights up outside…there is snow in the forecast this week. I’m thankful for a busy but good day.

It’s been really stressful at work again, so I’m thankful for Friday tomorrow. Of course. And for the short work week coming up next week, even though it will add to the stress of getting stuff done.

But I’m also thankful for some laughter at work today, for the snow melting with the rain, for sleepy pups, silly daughter chats, and for the extra, extra toasty cracker in my handful of extra toasty Cheez-Its. Mmmm.
