I dabbled in a bit of art today, organized a bit of basement chaos, and finished another book. I’m thankful for being productive. I’m also thankful that Patrick made one of my favorite dinners, lablabi. Look at that. Mmmm.

I’m thankful today for no superstitious bad luck. And for hanging with colleagues after work. And for starting a long weekend. Yay!
I’ve had a few people object to my post yesterday, so I feel the need to defend myself. For the record, I also send my kids cute pictures of baby animals as well as cute photos of when they were little. I mean, I find scaring them with spider pictures funny, but I’m not a monster. I think.
It’s been a long week. Several of my group have been sick or had family members sick, so it’s been a little more quiet than normal. I hate when others are hurting, so I’m hoping things improve for everyone.
Today I’m thankful for a clear follow-up appointment with my radiation oncologist, another good massage, and Friday Eve.
It’s been a bit of a tough day, and not just for me. Therefore I’m thankful today for making plans with friends, exercising for a longer bit than yesterday, and teasing my kids with this picture I’ve been saving for seven years. Randomly texting it to them periodically makes me laugh. Because I’m a terrible, mean mother.

I’m grateful today for meeting briefly with an old friend, texting with my kids, having Patrick help me with my worries, and drinking a good Manhattan.
I’m thankful today for getting the kitchen faucet replaced, some errands run, a little exercise in, and a book finished. Yay!
We had dinner with friends at our place today. It feels like forever since we’ve done that, so I’m thankful for a good time and good food. Patrick made coq au vin. Our friends brought smoked salmon. We had wine and beer and conversation. A great way to end the week.

I’m thankful today for stovetop coffee in the morning, a finished spreadsheet, a relatively painless shot in my stomach, a vacuumed house, and these two.

A friend of mine gave her notice at work, and while I’m sad to be losing her as a colleague, I’m thankful she made the difficult decision for herself. She deserves to continue blooming.
