It never fails, it gets so windy here around Halloween, and it really picked up today. I ended up putting away most of the outdoor stuff because it kept blowing over, including the ghosts. Talk about boo. Because of the wind and the drop in temperature, we also didn’t get a lot of trick or treaters. After about an hour or so, we thought we might be done for the night. I set the candy bowl on the stoop just as a new wave of kids showed up. I’m thankful the dogs didn’t go as nuts as we expected. In fact, Cooper did pretty good. He kept his eyes on the candy bowl.

As for me, I felt a little devilish today.

It was unseasonably warm, which made it seem like a leftover summer day. I’m thankful that it’s not going to last. I’m trying to get into the Halloween spirit since that’s only a couple of days away. Today some folks brought in spooky treats, and thankfully, I remembered that last night. I made these, which didn’t turn out like I had hoped.

I also didn’t have any idea for a costume this year, which is unlike me, so I went looking for something after dinner tonight. It’s crazy because most stores are now stocked with Christmas items, so there wasn’t much to choose from. I did find one thing that gave me an idea…I’m thankful for that and for the fact that I’ll have one more day to figure it out.

Patrick was back on greenhouse duty, so I did a bunch of errands on my own. Mostly I picked up some stuff for our upcoming company party. I even stopped by the venue to check on the room to confirm decorations. It was such a lovely day, I stayed for a sangria and brownie.

I also stopped by a warehouse sale and considered buying this awesome cabinet. I may still have to figure out a place for it.

Although I didn’t get everything done that I needed to, I’m thankful for a fairly productive and lovely day (mostly) solo.

Patrick took a break from building his greenhouse and we went exploring nearby. I was looking for new kitchen curtains. He did some scoping out for outdoor pavers. Neither of us found what we were looking for, but it was a nice day for wandering. We also got an early dinner at a local vegan brewery that we rarely visit and followed it up with a creepy movie. All in all, I’m thankful for a good Saturday.
