We had a fun day with Vanessa, Cliff and Teddy today. We went to a miniature golf/arcade place for a while and later Patrick made us steak in the pizza oven which was so good, Teddy ran “thank you” laps around the yard. Tomorrow they go on to the next leg of their vacation, but we are so thankful they spent the last couple of days with us.

I had to go home this morning, after a long night of not feeling well. And it was such a long drive in stop and go traffic for a while. So frustrating. I’m grateful I made it without incident, though. And I got home before Patrick’s sister and her family arrived, which was good.

Patrick made pizza for us, which was yummy. We got to visit for a while before it was time for them to go. They had been up super early for their flight, and I was ready to crash myself.

It was a beautiful day to hang out on the pontoon. We packed a lunch and headed out fairly early, at one point dropping anchor and going into the water to float around. We took pictures, but most of them were bad enough that we spent quite a while laughing about them. Then after dinner out at a nearby bar, we spent the evening playing games. I’m thankful for a fun day with my family.

I’m thankful I made it safely to my sister’s lake house today after a miserable 4-hour drive in crazy traffic. It was worth it for this view.

I’m also thankful that I was able to stop by a retirement lunch on my way out of town and see some colleagues from my old job. It was good to see everyone. I was reminded that there was a time work was fun. I miss those days.

It was a perfectly beautiful weather day today, breezy and sunny. Too bad I had to spend most of the day inside. Boo. I would have rather spent it outside with Cooper Pooper on his one year anniversary of becoming part of the family. Yay!

Every Monday I wish I could quit my job. Pretty I’m sure I’m not alone. It’s frustrating and rather sad, so at the end of the day, I’m thankful I made it through. And I’m hopeful the rest of the week is better.

We had severe storms and tornado warnings tonight, which was fitting. However, I’m grateful we didn’t have any damage and that they moved through quickly.

It was so warm today, and I kept getting hot flashes. Ugh. But I’m thankful for sleeping in even though I woke up at my normal time. Patrick got up and the dogs followed, so he shut the bedroom door and I fell back asleep. Yay!

Then we went to a nearby town for a farmers market and a couple of my favorite vintage stores. And later, I went to an oddities store with a friend and we followed it up with Halloween shopping. How crazy is that? One of the hottest days of summer and we bought stuff for October. But it was a fun day.
