It was supposed to rain again all day, but it held off, and we were able to hang out on the lake on the pontoon. It was relaxing and fun, and the views around the lake were beautiful.

My family also likes to play games for money. Last night my aunt and uncle came over for dinner, and we played cards all night. I lost $35.00, so today I just watched.

I’m thankful for another fun day with my family.

A colleague is retiring this week, tomorrow in fact, and I’m going to miss her. She was the person who was always there when I walked in and there when I left. It will be weird to walk in without hearing her happy “good morning!” But I’m so thankful she is finally retiring; she deserves to spend extra time with her family.

I’m also thankful that I have tomorrow off so Patrick and I can go to my sister’s lake house and spend time with my family. It should be a fun time and I can’t wait to relax.

I had brunch this morning with a friend, and I’m glad I thought to make a reservation because we forgot it was Father’s Day. It was busy and there was only a buffet, but it was also good, so we were pleased.

I’m thankful for a good morning and for my dad, Patrick’s dad and all of the other dads in our lives.

Patrick left for the day so I could go through stuff in the basement. And I spent about 5 hours going through totes of old clothes and shoes and labeling items and setting aside stuff to donate or give away. It was fantastic. I even found my missing summer clothes. I still have some more organizing to do, but I’m thankful I got a lot done.

I left work a little early today for an appointment with my oncologist. Since I got my ovaries removed, I no longer need to have my monthly shot, so it was pretty uneventful. A little blood work and a chat with my doctor, and I was done. Of course, my doctor says I need to remain on my preventative meds for another 3-5 years, and says I should be living a healthy lifestyle. Hmmm. Ok, I’m working on that. The real upside is that I’m now on a 6 month check up schedule. Yay! I’m thankful for a good visit.
