The day started off well. When Patrick got up, he shut the dogs out of the bedroom so I could go back to sleep. And I did—until 8 am which is quite late for me. Yay! Then we ran some errands that included a stop at an antique store, and had lunch at a brewery we hadn’t been to in a while. It was a fun day, until I realized I couldn’t find the expensive pen Patrick gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. Grrr. I’ve looked everywhere and now I’m worried it fell out of my purse without me knowing. I’m trying not to be too upset since at the end of the day, it’s just a pen. And it could still show up. There are people dealing with a lot worse. So instead of fretting, I’m thankful for a good day that felt like spring, with sunshine and warmer temperatures.

The week ended as busy as it started, but it was interesting at least. I learned about new equipment from UK colleagues and had good conversations with friends. I’m thankful I got at least 75% of my stuff done by end of my work day. I’m also thankful for dinner out with Patrick and a relaxing evening of binge watching a new show.

I’m thankful today for good conversations with work colleagues, sunshine and above average temperatures, and making future plans with my family. Oh! And this glimpse of spring from Patrick.

The end of January…it’s been a long month but I still can’t believe tomorrow is February. I’m thankful the days are getting longer now, though. I’m also thankful that I booked a flight to see Emma at her new place. I have to visit one of our other locations next week for work, and I was able to tack on the visit to Emma as part of it. Yay! I like having happy things to look forward to.

After a 10 hr workday that was filled with back to back meetings and drama, I’m thankful for these bookend pups. I’m also thankful for chatting with a friend while at the gym, a yummy dinner waiting for me afterwards, and my favorite sugar cookie.

I’m thankful for friends, tea, good stretches, frosted sugar cookies, and cozy slippers.

I intended to spend most of the day in my craft room, so Patrick left to wander around and listen to his audio book. And while I started out in my craft room, I got frustrated quickly by my inability to get a project done the way I wanted. Darn clay. I’m pretty sure part of my frustration is my lack of experience with this medium and so I have given myself a pass for today. I’m going to do some more research and then try again.
However, because I needed to feel like I accomplished something , I spent a good portion of the day packing up the last of the winter greens, doing laundry, dropping off some stuff at Goodwill, and going to the gym. Then I went back to my craft room and cleaned up so I’d be ready for next time.
It wasn’t how I wanted to spend my day, but I’m thankful I got a lot done.

I’m thankful for this amazing cherry pie which I ate for dinner because I could since I went to the gym earlier today. Don’t judge me.

The biopsy results from earlier in the week came back negative so I don’t need a hysterectomy. Yay! And my doctor’s office already called and got me scheduled for May 20. It’s going to be a quick out patient procedure with minimal recovery time. Double yay!! The best part, though, is that both my upcoming surgeries will happen before the summer. After all, for the last three years, I’ve had a surgery in the summertime. It feels good to know that in about four months I’ll be done with the major stuff. Finally. Triple yay!!!

The end of week struggle…

I’m thankful it’s Friday Eve!
