Wow. It’s been a long, yet quick week. I’m glad tomorrow is Friday! I’m almost caught up at work, but I’m also back to training my new hire which takes up time. I’m thankful he’s catching on pretty quickly though.

I’m also thankful that each night this week I’ve been able to sleep a little bit longer in between bathroom breaks. Last night I got 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Woohoo! I’m going for six tonight.

I’m so tired. The jet lag and lack of sleep is catching up to me. Plus I had developed a pretty bad urinary tract infection while I was in France. Even though I got a natural remedy at a Pharmacie in Paris, it didn’t work. Last night I woke every hour, and the pain was intense enough that I had a video appointment with a doctor at midnight. I wanted to get an antibiotic right away this morning. I’m thankful I was able to work from home today, especially since it was so cold here. I was not ready to come home to winter!

We left Paris today. We were able to have a final Parisien breakfast and pick up a couple of souvenirs before heading to the airport. Sadly the girls and I entered different terminals, so we parted ways at the taxi. I miss them already. But I’m actually looking forward to getting home and seeing Patrick and the pups. I miss them too. I’m thankful for our safe travels.

I’m so tired. We have been walking about 7 miles a day which is obviously not my norm. Now I know why most of the women here are so thin. Walking everywhere, running to the metro or bus, is a great natural workout. But it’s easy when shops and cafes are so closely packed together. Back home, things are much more spread out. I guess we take for granted the amount of space we have.

It was a good day though despite going once more to the Paleontology museum and not getting in for the second time. We even made sure to get there a couple hours before closing but they were turning people away already. So we headed back and got an early dinner at Boullion Chartier before the line to get in was long. It was good, classic food and a lovely setting.

We started our day at the flea market where I found Patrick a small copper pot for his collection and myself a small painting that was just weird enough and we ended the day seeing the Eiffel Tower in its lighted glory. We also saw Sacré Cœur. I’m thankful for another great day in Paris.

It was a busy day of walking and we saw a lot despite the constant drizzling rain. We also rode the Metro and ate good food. And shopped. I’m thankful for this time in Paris with my girls.

My last day in Antibes was quick. An early meeting, an all-company lunch with a food truck, and then off to the airport. It was another lovely day at the office. I suspect we will be heading quickly into winter when I return home, so I’m extra grateful for another day of sunshine and warmth.

This time I flew into Paris through Orly instead of de Gaul, so I’ve now seen 3 new airports on this trip. How fun! And I actually spied the Eiffel Tower this time while flying over.

My daughters will arrive tomorrow, so I have this evening to relax a bit by myself. My only plan is to eat and sleep. Ha. And maybe grab as much closet space as I can. While I’m thankful for these past work days with new colleagues, I’m also grateful for a few days on holiday.

I’m grateful for another lovely day in Antibes. I’ve learned a lot from my colleagues and appreciate how friendly and helpful they all are. We’ve had good conversations and laughter over good meals, too, which is a bonus. I’m not sure the last time I’ve eaten so much, especially desserts, but I’m not complaining!

Happy smiles!
Lamb shoulder. It was delicious.
