We went to a couple farmer’s markets today. It was super warm but look at this amazing plate of colorful vegetables. So worth it. I feel healthier just having this stuff in our house.

Plus we saw this guy. I’m not sure what the deal was, but I’m guessing those were pet skunks. ?? It was an interesting day.

I’m thankful again for time spent outside as well as time spent inside. I did some crafting with glitter. I didn’t get a picture, but trust me when I say it’s every where.

It was another tough day. I thought I was moving on to where life was getting better, but there’s always something to deal with. I miss being young and hopeful, knowing there was still a world of possibilities out there. Sigh.

I did have a positive moment for which I’m grateful. While on an errand, a woman in a store stopped me to compliment my hair. My hair. My hair that has been driving me crazy lately, that I’ve been worried is too thin and frizzy, that I haven’t been able to style correctly. I told her she had made my day.

It goes to show you that a lot of stuff comes down to perspective. She had no idea what kind of hair I used to have, so she saw what she liked. I’ve been comparing it to what it used to be and only seeing what I don’t like.

It’s good to be reminded to try to look at things from other angles. I’ll be working on that with my other disappointments from today. I’m thankful for that reminder and for the ways Patrick helped encourage and cheer me up. Aren’t these flowers lovely?

It was warm but breezy this evening, so I sat outside for a while with the pups. I never get tired of this view. The newly mown grass, the pups, Patrick’s garden in full bloom. I’m always thankful for our little slice of the world.

It was a crooked raven on a skull wineglass kind of day. On the upside, I got my stitches out and things are healing well. On the downside, I found out one of my colleagues is going to be leaving work soon, and not of his own accord. It’s disappointing and makes me sad.

What also makes me sad is that I got through mowing half of our backyard this evening, and I felt like throwing up. Granted it was still almost 90 degrees, but really. I am so out of shape.

I’m thankful these guys make me laugh.

Patrick went to the renaissance faire, so I had a day to myself. It’s rare that I’m home alone. I didn’t do anything exciting, just some errands and laundry, but I played music and planted flowers. I’m thankful for the solitude and that Patrick also had fun on his own.

I’m thankful today for Patrick who drove us around to a bunch of junk stores (even though he refused to stop at a barn sale at the end of the day). We had lunch at one of his favorite fast food chicken restaurants, and I scored a couple of cool finds. It was a good way to spend a rainy day.

I was told this leather hat box belonged to a 90-year-old woman’s grandfather. 😳
The inside is pristine!
I can’t resist little wooden cabinets, especially when they have a tiny oval mirror in front.

It’s fake Friday! So glad to be done with the work week. I met a friend spontaneously after work at a place by the river. It was a great spot, but it was warm, so we didn’t stay too long. Nevertheless, I’m thankful for a bit of socializing outside on a summer evening.

I’m also thankful for these guys who were SO HAPPY to see me after 12 hours away.
